7 Ways To Achieve Your Goals And Feel A Sense Of Purpose

The people who end up achieving their goals in life are those those who are 100% determined to push themselves and make a life change, so they can hit their goals, feel a sense of purpose and then make impact.

Surround yourself with people that are driven and go getters and want to improve and achieve things similar to your goals. People who don’t have the same goals and vision as you will never understand why you work so hard or distance yourself at times.

Goals without actions are just dreams

I recently overhead a lady complimenting her friend’s mother on how young she still looks.

She made a comment on some parents looking younger than their age because they avoid junk, eat healthier and are more physically active than the younger ones.

“Unlike us, our diet these days are basically chemicals, soda & we’re more physically inactive compared to our parents.”

What struck me was not just how precise she was about what is causing people to age faster and suffer from various diseases at a younger age:

But the fact that what she said is known by many young people today yet we choose to live carelessly.

Most of us have ‘perfect’ ideas on what we need to do daily to get closer to our goals:

We know what we should be doing to grow our business, improve our health & build a life of our dreams yet few of us are doing it.

Remember, If your daily actions are not taking you closer to your goals, then they are taking you away from your goals.

The key is to let your learning lead to action not just knowledge.

So what exactly is holding you back?

Goals or Purpose

What you fill up your life cup with matters. Chose the things that lead you towards your goals and the roads will start to open up.
You play different and become feel purposeful when everyone chases quick results, thrills and material things you pursue slow results, goals and the immaterial.

7 ways to achieve your goals and feel a sense of purpose

Many times we catch ourselves thinking about we want to do and achieve.
Our goals, dreams, my aspirations…⁣ but it all starts with:

1) Believe in yourself

No one can make it happen for you unless you want it badly.

When you don’t believe in yourself, its easy to be okay with

  • Living below your potential
  • Lack
  • Staying stuck with limiting beliefs that hold you down.
Understand the only limits we set, are in our mind. Your potential is what you make it
  • Taking it easy and ‘relating’ to people going through the same thing⁣
Before you can experience success in your physical world you must first win the battle in your mind.

2) Take Proper care of your Body

Big things tend to happen when you’re operating at high performance.

And to operate at high-performance you need a healthy body.
Take full responsibility of everything you put in your body and the way you move your body.

Create structure as stated in the next point to maintain productivity without compromising on your health.

  • Taking care of your body can be as simple as
  • Eating Real foods
  • Cutting down on sugar
  • Having daily walks
  • Doing a workout before or after work
  • Getting up or Stretching between meetings
  • Meditating
  • Spending some time in nature.

3) Set goals to improve performance

You can keep dreaming about your goals but until you tap into understanding of taking action and intentionally creating a plan or strategy to attack the goals you have – it may never come to a reality.
Set a goal, reverse engineer it, break it up into smaller goals and relentlessly work towards the goal.

Create structure through schedules and sticking to them.

Use a calendar – Even if you don’t meet your goal, you’ll have a starting point on your calendar and be able to track your progress.

Remember setting goals and fancy tools are worthless if you don’t optimize or stick to them.

3) Help others by focusing on impact

The more you help others to achieve their goals, the easier it will become for you to also succeed too.

If you want to go far and fast, help more people to achieve their goals and dreams.

Sometimes you don’t need fancy tools to help others – become good at something and start talking to a lot of people who don’t want to do that something you’re great at.

4) Do it regardless of how you feel

Make it a priority and do it everyday and you can turn around your life positively⁣⁣⁣.

Make sure you do at least ONE SMALL THING today that moves you closer to your goals.

Keep pursuing your goals whether you’re alone, broke, tired, or scared.

5) Surround yourself with the right people

When you are motivated and excited about pursuing your goals, you’ll attract other people who have the same values and interests.

The right people in this case includes:

  • Coaches and Mentors – to teach and cheer you up.
  • Accountability partners – to hold you accountable by your words.
  • Supporting family members
The goals is to have people that helps you keep each other accountable, inspired and motivated to level up!

6) Kick out your distractions

Strategize how to minimize them to allow you concentrate on your goal.

It could be turning off your phone and putting it in another room while working.

Most of the things you waste the most time on are not out of situation alone but by design.

All platforms with Reels and short videos are designed to be dopamine packed and capture your attention.

7) Stay committed

If you’re not fully committed to a goal, you won’t give it all the effort required to succeed.

When you’re not fully committed to your goals you give up too easily, work with less determination, are more likely to procrastinate and make more unproductive decisions.

I hope this helps. Finding your purpose gives you direction which is my wish for you.

Remember, You can do anything you put your mind to.

What stops people from taking ACTION towards their goals?

1) Thinking short-term

I’ve practically been among those that said “I’m too young, I don’t need to watch what I eat.”
You guessed it right – It didn’t take up to 2 years after; I changed my diet for good as a result of ill-health.

2) Focusing on instant gratification

Common instant gratification traps that can ruin your future include: porn, smoking, alcohol, drug abuse.

Successful people chase delayed gratification and get long term happiness.
Unsuccessful people chase instant gratification and are unhappy about their choices.

You must delay instant gratification to reach your goals.

3) Conditioning/upbringing & society

We are largely conditioned by how we were brought up, our parents, schools, society and the government.
The media promotes casual sex and so many think it’s cool, fast food which messes our health and so many vices.

Once you realize this conditioning and decide to let go you become free and stop being a slave to the society and media.

4) Trying to impress others

So many people would prefer to go broke trying to impress others than actually learning to build wealth, crash their health and natural look with chemicals and expensive surgeries so they can look cool & do all manner of things because they crave validation.

The real flex is being yourself and staying true to your values.

5) Not taking responsibility

No one is coming to save you, you’ve got to take ownership.

“Extreme ownership is about taking responsibility for your words and actions, not making excuses and not blaming others.”

It may not be your fault that you are where you are in life, but it’s your fault if you stay there.

Shirking off responsibility doesn’t build strategy, traps you down and doesn’t tell well of you. If you want to change your life you’ve got to take responsibility for everything you do.

6) Lack of purpose

When there’s inner void; we tend to fill our lives with wrong stuff. When people ask me to give feedback about their business – one of the first questions I ask is “what’s your purpose” “Why do you want to do this business.”

And 90% of the time, the most successful businesses have solid purpose behind their success.

Others are:

  1. Procrastination
  2. Not forming the right habits
  3. Lack of rest – leading to burnout.
  4. Tolerating Excuses
  5. Allowing others talk you out of your goals

How to take action on your goals?

1) Get out of your comfort zone

Realize that for things to be different, we must try something different.

2) Be a doer, not just a thinker

Reflection would only lead to more learning when it follows action.
There’s no right moment to take action.

3) Focus on practice

Thousand “reiterations” is what makes you good at anything. Nothing can feel more liberating than building, experimenting, failing, iterating and solving real problems.
The key is to have a bias for action as it opens the door for more learning, experimenting and growth.

4) Stop being afraid of failure

Most of our inactions are simply us learning how to avoid actions that lead to pain and suffering.

Failure is only failure when you don’t learn from it.

5) Associate with the right people

You’re the average of the five (5) people you associate with.
If you want to get better at any habit, you’ve got to associate more with people that are already doing it. Stop hanging around with people who don’t have worthy goals.

Action steps for goals examples

Do you want to grow a business? build genuine relationships, focus on helping people, have a purpose, build systems, make offers, learn to sell etc.

Do you want to learn how to manage money better? – don’t rely on a single source of income, don’t spend more than you earn, save at least 10% of your income, pay tithes, invest in companies you believe in etc.

CONCLUSION

Today, not taking action because you “don’t know where to start” is no more an excuse: you’ve got YouTube, Google, free and paid Courses on various platforms.

The resources are out there, it’s up to you to make use of them

Create the right moment by taking action now. You will thank yourself in a few years.

Life rewards taking action:
